Jakob Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (generally known as Felix Mendelssohn) was born to Moses Mendelssohn on February 3rd, 1809 and died on November 4th, 1847. Felix Mendelssohn was a German composer and conductor of the early Romantic period. His work includes symphonies, concertos, oratorios, piano and chamber music and he is now considered among the most popular composers of the Romantic era.
